The new update hurts my eyes

I loved the game. Played it everyday religiously. But the new update where the board becomes darker after you make a move is really uncomfortable to the eyes. Why do that? Did anyone complain before? It was perfect and I really cant play it now. Bugs my eye so please change it back! Dont like the darken, lighten effect. Annoying and doesnt help in anyway. Once thats done you will get 5 stars because you guys deserve it.
